Lovin' the Leather! Jul 29, 2010 I have owned Fryes for quite a few years, my first being the Campus boot. I loved that, and so bought a couple of cute Frye mules, too. After reading reviews, I bought those shoes in a half-size smaller, but that may have been a mistake for me. I just received the Harness in my usual 7.5M, pulled them on, and now want to go to sleep in them, they're that comfy. I bought these to go with a new "motorcycle" jacket I'd bought and now I'm thinking I can wear them even in our balmy summer weather! The size also gives me the option to wear thick winter socks when the weather changes. Ladies, even at 55 you can keep lovin' the leather -- especially when it's from Frye!
The kind of quality "Made in the USA" guarantees... Mar 20, 2010 Wow....I just cannot say enough about these boots. This is my first pair of Frye boots, and I must say that the quality is absolutely impeccable. The leather is thick and supple and the craftsmanship is out of this world. I wholly agree with the majority of the other reviewers about the sizing of these boots...I am a true size 6 and ordered a 5 1/2 in these and they fit perfectly. (For reference, in brands that run smaller such as Asics, Nike and Keen I am a 6 1/2 and in those that run more true to size like Merrell, Nine West and Clarks I wear a size 6). Order a half size smaller and they will fit you perfectly. I was debating getting these for a while, and I am so glad that I did. They are sexy, classic, comfortable, and I can tell that I will be wearing them for many years to come!

Love these in tan! Feb 17, 2010 These boots are amazing! I bought them in the tan color, and wasn't expecting them to be already distressed-looking since they didn't appear that way in the photo. When they arrived, though, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have that broken-in look already to them.
After reading a lot of reviews here on Amazon and elsewhere, I decided to go with the common advice of ordering a half-size down, and I'm glad I did. I usually wear a 7 1/2 in boots and shoes, and the 7 fit perfectly. What I read on-line said that you know you have the right fit when the heel area is loose; they will eventually mold to your foot, and you will no longer feel your heel sliding in them, which is exactly what I found to be the case.
I also had no problems breaking them in. I wore them around the house for a few hours over the weekend, out for two hours yesterday, and wore them for eight hours on my feet teaching today -- and didn't need to put on my back-up shoes that I had brought with me (expecting that these would hurt after a while). They were comfy and great all day!
These are almost a cross between a motorcycle boot and an equestrian boot -- and they definitely are smokin'! I got compliments on them all day today, and love how classically stylish they are. While the motorcycle look is currently trendy, these boots have such a classic look to them that I know I will be able to wear them for years to come.
UPDATE 3/20/10: Just wanted to update my review to say that the more you wear these boots, the more broken in and comfy they get. Every time I wear them, I also get so many compliments on them! A friend of mine from work also mentioned to me that she's had her Frye boots for about ten or fifteen years, and they are still going strong. She's had to get them re-soled a few times, but they look great after all those years.

Soft as butter Feb 15, 2010 I had been purchasing Double H boots for the last 15 years or so, until Double H decided to no longer produce the tan DH 5006. I was also disappointed several years ago when they stopped the Metro line which was a very soft and comfortable boot.
In desperation I googled harness boots, figuring someone had to actually make a stable line of harness boots in different colors and came across the Frye line. After consulting with several people about Frye Boots, I decided to give it a try. I am ecstatic!!!
While I don't have a wide foot, I do need a wide width since I have to wear orthotic arch supports for my high arches. I ordered my normal half size up (7 1/2) and thought there was no way I would ever be able to wear the arch supports in boots this tight and form fitting.....until 10 minutes later when the buttery soft leather gave way enough after wearing them without the arch supports to fit them in. I was still a bit apprehensive of the tight fit after actually putting my foot in with the arch supports.....until about 15 minutes later when the leather gave way even more to accommodate both, which was just in time to wear them to church.
It has been a week now and the boots are still very form fitting and elegant looking (no sagging of the leather) but do not require the constant stretching that the Double H boots required in order to not abrade the skin on the top of my feet.
I've since sent a letter to Double H Boots, thanking them for no longer producing the boots I need, since I would otherwise never have known about Frye Boots and their superior fit, softness and comfort.
I will, most likely, never purchase another brand of harness leather boots again.
Thank you, Frye Boots, for having such a superior product.
It's well worth the investment.

Great boot but.... Jan 02, 2010 I like these boots. They are well made, love the square toe, but I must say I doubt I will ever purchase another pair of pull on boots. Like many other reviewers have stated, they do run a little big but I am glad that I ordered my normal size 8 since it is a pain pulling them on and off. Once on they are comfortable even though a little big. They make my feet look bigger than they are but I wear flare or wide leg pants so that is not really a problem. I have muscular calves and these fit perfectly, not tight at all. In my opinion, they would be perfect if they had a zipper.
