Great buy! Oct 02, 2008 I wanted a pair shoes with style, "corporate finance" look, very comfortable, and inexpensive. With this pair of Rockport Ellingwoods, I got all that I was looking for. I am very happy with my purchase and I fully recommend it.
Comfort in a dress shoe! Aug 25, 2008 These are the most comfortable dress shoes I've found. My wife insists on dress shoes for certain occasions, and I have heel spurs giving me trouble. These shoes allow me to wear the dress shoes she wants me to wear without extra pain. And with a wide foot, I was able to get a comfortable fit.

Don't be fooled by the gimmicks Jun 11, 2008 Out of the box, you'd think these shoes are pretty comfortable - in fact, considering that they stole an important aspect of Mephisto's shoes design, the Soft-Air mechanism (which Rockport calls the Kinetic Air Circulator), they SHOULD be comfortable. But after a few weeks, they most certainly aren't. The quality simply isn't there compared to Mephisto shoes. The leather is thin, stiff and plasticky, the insole is cheap foam that quickly flattens out, and the rest of the shoe just isn't up to par with genuinely comfortable shoes. Once the insole wears out in a month (if you do much of any walking), the shoes go from sort-of comfortable to painful. The hard leather does not conform to your foot, but rather squeezes it when you take a step and the toe cap digs into the top of your foot if the shoe bends too far. I don't recommend buying these shoes unless your foot happens to be exactly the same as the shape of these shoes, because they're completely unyielding and become painful even to sit around in after a few weeks.
Great shoe, even better price May 28, 2008 I have very narrow feet--A width; and very long feet--13. It's tough to find a shoe that I can wear, unless I'm willing to pay $300 for a pair of shoes. I was pleasantly surprised that this shoe offers a relatively good fit and wears extremely well. This is my second pair of the Ellingwood Oxford. My first pair, black in color, are a year old and still look like new. Now if Rockport would just make all their styles in Narrow....

good shoe, needed breaking in. Feb 09, 2008 Out of the box, the shoe was not as comfortable as I was expecting when I walked. But it seemed to fit and after a couple weeks is now very comfortable.
