These are a MUST HAVE! Jan 06, 2009 If professional chefs and nurses wear these, so should I. With incredible arch support and comfort, these shoes are a MUST HAVE (especially if you need serious arch support)! Mind you, when you're so accustomed to tight-fitting shoes, it takes a little getting used to the "airiness" of them. Make sure you measure your foot properly for the right size; I used a metric ruler for accuracy. When you get the right size, there will be a finger's width of space required at the heel for optimum wearability, BUT it's well worth it. The air "pocket" between the shoe and your foot stays insulated, acting like the water "pocket" in a wetsuit. I'm planning on purchasing many more pairs due to their numerous colors and styles (don't tell my husband!). ~Natasha
returned Dec 14, 2008 my daughter loves these shoes - i found them so uncomfortable after standing in them for 5 minutes in the kitchen that i sent them back...

The best shoes I have ever owned..and I own 4 pair Dec 10, 2008 I work in health care, and often will work on my feet for upwards of 30 hours straight. I only wear danskos to work in as they are the most comfortable, sturdy shoe that I have owned. My first pair is over 5years old, and still going strong - and I subsequently have 3 more pairs (Black, brown, red, and shiny black) - and they have not shown their wear despite daily use. They are worth every penny, and I recommend them widely to patients who ask about them. The best part - they make your feet look smaller, and they are cute!

The wrong shoe for low arches and European travel Oct 08, 2008 I bought the brown oiled leather Dansko's for a vacation to the UK and returned them promptly after getting back home to the US. I thought since I've heard great things about these shoes and since Danskos are so ugly, they have to be comfortable. I was totally wrong!! These shoes proved to be the absolute worst choice in footwear for European travel and for those that have low arches!
The Dansko's work great for people with high arches, but I felt like I had a river rock jammed in my arch and the aftermath left me with intense pain in my arches and heels days after switching to my Crocs for the remainder of my vacation.
The Danskos also have a thick, stiff arch which is a disaster when walking on uneven pavement or cobblestone as the shoe doesn't give. I rolled my ankle countless times while walking on cobblestone and ended up with a mild sprained ankle on the first day of my vacation. I have very strong ankles, excellent balance (I'm a yoga instructor), and I'm a lightweight so I'm not the type of person that takes a step wrong or prone to rolled ankles.
Last time I vacationed in Europe, I wore $20 clog Crocs and walked 10+ miles everyday without experiencing any problems over the cobblestone. I don't think I'll experiment with other shoes such as Danskos for the next vacation I take.

Love them! Sep 07, 2008 I'm a 3rd year medical student and spent a week working in the hospital and coming home almost in tears because my feet hurt so bad. More than a few med students and health care professionals suggested Dansko so I bought a pair and fell in love immediately. I then bought these online and love them just as much. I recommend these to anyone who is one their feet all day!!!!
