Don't Be Soled Dec 27, 2008 I've had two pair of these over the years. Unfortunately after about a year or so you begin to feel like Hansel and Gretel leaving pieces of the sole wherever you go. On both pairs the soles literally disintegrate. Since I only wear them in the winter months it really cuts short their life expetency. This is not a new problem since my first pair was purchased 10 years ago and like a sucker I tried them again recently and got burned again. I like the shoes and they are comfortable but for this to happen twice is totally unacceptable especially given their price. Try something else.

Will fall apart!!!! Dec 24, 2008 Many others have the exact same experience. The soles literally disintegrate off the bottom of the shoe! Ecco does not care. They have a one year policy. Do a search on these and most of the other Ecco brand shoes and you will then learn the awful truth about this company. These soles are now made in China and the quality reflects that.
Stay away!!!!
ecco shoes Dec 02, 2008 These shoes arrived promptly and fit very well. The most comfortable shoe I ever owned. This is my third pair.
My favorite Ecco casual Oct 15, 2008 I pretty much only wear Ecco footwear, with the exception of odd items like western boots and pacs. My daily wear is Ecco's cap toe dress shoes, which I gave a glowing revew: ECCO Men's Austin Cap Toe Oxford
I've had two pairs of the Track shoes, and like them a lot for all-around casual wear. You get the same rugged construction, premium oil-impregnated leather, leather lining, etc. Like all Eccos, these wear like iron and last for years.
I give them 5 stars, but note that the sole doesn't last quite as long on these as some of Ecco's other shoes. The problem is that the outer polyurethane layer of the sole is just that - a layer over an inner, softer sponge rubber of some sort. The sole has a lot of give - it is VERY comfortable for city walking in spite of the aggressive tread pattern. Unfortunately, walking on hard surfaces will accelerate wearing through that outer sole layer, and you find yourself with little flaps of sole material sticking out here and there. Still, my last pair took about 3 years to get to that point with frequent wear. It broke my heart to toss them - the uppers still looked like new!
GREAT SHOES Aug 22, 2008 I love these shoes. This is my 3rd or 4th pair. I generally wear them every day and they usually last about 2 years before the soles are worn out or they become "dirty work shoes". They are extremely comfortable from the first day of wear and maintain their waterproofness for a long time. I hardly ever have to use shoe polish on them since they have a tough matte black finish.
The only issue I have is that the laces become untied regularly--they don't want to hold a knot.
This last pair I purchased was like all the others in the past--same quality and everything. I may have gotten lucky and not gotten the newer lower quality versions the other reviews mention. I would hate to see these change.
