Lots of compliments! Aug 15, 2008 Very cute, pretty comfortable - I get lots of compliments on these cute little shoes - they have shine AND texture and some nice little details. There's not as much support around the instep and arch as you'd want for big walking days, but - you know - it's a cute vs. comfort trade off!
a keeper Aug 08, 2008 Before buying, I'd read reviews on other sites about this shoe. One such review said that the shoe "looked cheap". Since I bought it on Amazon for a third of the price of the other site, I think it's fair to say... it was cheap, but it doesn't look cheap. However, I purchased the Krakow in brown. The inner lining is white, and there is no facing to cover the edge of the lining. If you're familiar with sewing, you understand that the facing is a strip of fabric that attaches to the edge of the exterior of a shoe, handbag, jacket, whatever, and folds over the edge just into the inner lining to... well,...keep it from looking cheap. Right now, I'm wearing them without tights or socks, and my legs are pretty white, so it's all good. When Autumn comes, though, and I'm doing the brown tights with brown shoes thing, I will likely have a thin strip of white around the upper edge of the shoe... ruining the whole brown on brown thing. Eh. Brown on brown is overrated.
Oh yeah...comfort. Well, the first day I wore them I noticed that they didn't tax my feet as much as a few other pairs of shoes I'd recently purchased, but they did not have the greatest arch support (not bad, just not the greatest). Oh yes. After work on the same day, I got stuck in a store I'd never been to. I couldn't find what I was looking for, and spent over an hour walking around looking for plastic placemats of all things (don't ask). When I got home, I had a little blister on the top of the toe next to my little toe. That's not too bad, is it?
PS: For some reason, they make my feet look smaller...shorter. Don't know if that matters to you, but there it is.
